Synopsis™ spawned out of a strong belief in doing good work, in analyzing beyond the surface, in provoking thought, in touching people’s hearts, in educating and exploring new ways in visual culture. This belief is still shared today by its founders Ovidiu Hrin and Silvia Hrin who are running the studio together since December 2001.
The independent design studio employs talented people while working on both cultural and commercial design projects for clients around the globe. For the sake of custom-tailored solutions, the team has remained small and focused throughout the years using a teleological approach toward the building of complex communication systems & visual identities. The posters, books, magazines & visual identities built in this studio have been published, awarded and exhibited in honorable company all around the globe – Art Directors Club (NY) – The Cooper Hewitt (NY) – Toyama Triennial (JP) – Graphis Design International (NY) – Chaumont Poster Festival (FR) – Brno Biennial (CZ) – Golden Bee (RU) – Shenzhen Biennial (CHN) – American Institute of Graphic Arts (US) – European Design Awards (CH) – Museum of Design Zurich (CH) and many more…
Ovidiu Hrin studied architecture and communication design before founding Synopsis™, he holds lectures and workshops throughout Europe and is constantly being invited as an artist, selector, or jury member by respectable design institutions worldwide. He is also a member of the Type Directors Club New York and the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
